Took our new-to-us 2022 Sport on a pretty substantial road trip to see how it did. 32mpg overaged over the whole trip with the peppy 1.3t engine, a vast improvement over our 2017 Latitude with the 2.4.

Hey there, I'll try to be brief. My Renegade with 68k miles has been suffering more and more from sluggish, lacking power. It seems really hard to get enough throttle to downshift.
Sometimes, especially in hot weather, even when I manually downshift the output seems to not keep up with the gear. It's also idling lower than it used to, around 690-740 when it's at operating temp.
I took it into the dealership, they didn't find any smoking guns but made some recommendations (as they always do). I'm having the spark plugs changed (they don't look too worn but are pretty powdery, maybe due to oil consumption from this engine? It has been one of the offenders in that respect), and the throttle body cleaned.
They're also recommending a transmission fluid service, and a "quick learn" to reset the transmission. They say since it's an adaptive trans and the car has multiple drivers, it may have learned unwanted "habits." I think that's weird, but who knows.
I don't see how the fluid change could possibly help, though. It doesn't shift rough (except super rarely), and, while I notice the revs go up before the new gear is actually engaged (especially when shifting to 4th gear), everything seems fine.
Has anyone had a tranny fluid flush/service actually address the feel of sluggishness or slowness to accelerate?
Anything else that stands out? They said there aren't any vacuum leaks. Never had a CEL. My next thought would be pulling and cleaning/replacing some sensors, but not there yet.

I'm on a continued quest to figure out why my '17 2.4l feels so terribly slow and sluggish. I know that the transmission is just super slow in general. I'm starting to wonder, though, if the car shouldn't actually be picking such low RPMs to spend most of its time in. We're talking low 1k's, like 1200 staying under 2000 even when I'm pressing the gas trying to get it to downshift. I have to press the pedal really far to get the transmission to respond.
Never any codes or anything to diagnose. But sometimes I have the feeling that it's struggling to take in enough air. The engine air filter is new.
Any ideas where I could go with this? I'm getting pretty frustrated.
For quite a while I've had a "sound system unavailable" message, and the vehicle only produces sound on the passenger side. When it started, the speaker in the driver door would cut in and out. Now, I'm pretty sure that speaker has quit for good and the car's way of dealing with it is to cut off all sound to that side of the car.
Have you had to operate on your speaker system, and, if so, how did it go? I'm not super familiar with car sound systems, as it's never been an aspect of car ownership that I was terribly interested in. I'll take any tips or tricks you got, however.
Have you needed to replace the fuel filter? I see that the Renny filter is supposed to be a "lifetime" filter, whatever that means. Wondering if real-world experience is a but different.
For context, my '17 2.4l has been feeling extra sluggish for a while now, and I'm trying to think through the best options for maintenance to maybe improve performance. It has about 65k miles on it.
