The representative of the Krakenclan, having completed his mission as representative, leaves King Alderic’s palace.

The exchanges were generally cordial, even if sometimes a little tense. Tension due to a difference in culture that was not always well understood by King Alderic.

An agreement was reached:

– each state recognises and respects the territorial integrity and existing borders of the other

– Diplomats and envoys have free and safe access between the two kingdoms. There is therefore recognition of diplomatic immunity. In addition, diplomats will have facilitated access to the representatives of the kingdoms.

– Finally, the two kingdoms have signed a mutual non-aggression pact. No attack and no support for hostile action against the other. This applies under the current circumstances and may be revised in the event of a significant change in the situation.

In the hills of Tython, taking advantage of the conflicts between the generals, a local lord named Aldéric managed to unite his Lion faction with the local Black Falcon and Black Raven factions without interference from the authorities.
His army grew discreetly.

At first, his goal was to protect his people, living in the heart of the hills away from the main roads, from the looting caused by the armies of the generals involved in the civil war.
But this civil war seemed likely to continue for a long time, which filled Lord Aldéric with despair.

One day, he got hold of an emissary belonging to one of the generals and saw an opportunity to put an end to this disaster.
He released the emissary while making sure to inadvertently show him the organisation of his army.
Impressed, the emissary went to see his general, Cassian Varro.

The general contacted Aldéric and an alliance was formed.
With the support of fresh forces — Aldéric’s forces — the general quickly began to win victories. The war leaders of the Falcons and the Ravens blocked supply lines and harassed the armies of the other generals while remaining highly mobile. Aldéric and his Lions handled the pitched battles. General Cassian Varro’s soldiers quickly came to appreciate Aldéric, who was unassuming and cheerful, and the population came to recognise his mercy: Aldéric formally forbade his troops from committing any looting or massacring civilians.

But Aldéric, for his part, had quickly seen through General Cassian Varro, whom he did not particularly like. Giving him power meant giving power to an evil man.

The civil war was almost over, with only a few pockets of resistance here and there. The general was therefore on the verge of taking power.

While making sure that he had an alibi, Aldéric tasked his champion, Varek, with discreetly assassinating the general, who had grown overconfident and was hardly taking any precautions now that victory was at hand.

With the general assassinated, his troops were left dismayed, and Aldéric became their natural candidate for the role of leader.

Once in power, Aldéric began by putting an end to all the fighting. Looting was severely punished and the opposing troops were granted amnesty. The trade routes were reopened and agriculture was able to recover.

To make people forget these dark times and the Republic, Aldéric decided to rename the capital Concordia, a symbol of restored harmony, and founded the Kingdom of the Phoenix.

On the military level, he retained the organisation into legions, each of them having its own emblem. Naturally, the Lions, the Falcons and the Ravens became the first 3 legions, each with a specific role.

He entrusted the 1st Legion, the Lions, to his son Léoric. This legion is mainly dedicated to the defence of the kingdom.

The 2nd Legion of the Black Falcons naturally remained under the command of his old friend Roderic de Montbrume. Mobile infantry and siege weapons.

The 3rd Legion of the Ravens was entrusted to the young Morcant de Noireval: heavy cavalry, effective in pitched battles.

Finally, he formed an elite corps that he placed under the command of his daughter Éléandra.

His army is supplemented by 5 mages, a dragon, a phoenix and a sea serpent.
Aldéric will continue to develop his army, particularly his fleet.

At the same time, he will send embassies and pay his respects to his neighbours, with whom he hopes to maintain good relations.

After this bloody and murderous civil war, the territory of Thyton returns to the world under the emblem of the Phoenix.
