Putting the Fender controversy aside, I tried a series of 5-String basses and found that the J-5 was my favorite. With that said, I’ve always preferred the sound and simplicity of a P-Bass. I want to order the APII P-Bass V….I have to assume the neck is going to be quite similar to the JV Ultra. Anyone have one, have any thoughts on it?

Long time guitarist, recent bassist for a country/rock band that plays a 4 hour set covering the last 4 decades. I use a Fractal FM3 MKII turbo as my DI….do I even need a cab sim if I’m not going for a modern tone? (I play with flat wounds)

People like “Aron plays bass” that put their own spin on an already popular song. I’m not looking for 1:1 replicas of what was played, more interested in exploring the ideas of what someone else hears on the song.
