Hi!
So I have a CWD that was bought new for me as a gift from my family in 2020. Fast forward to now, it does not fit my horse. I need a new one, and have found one that fits him well that I am about to pay the invoice for. What I am debating- do I keep my old saddle or trade it in?
My argument for keeping it is that they are offering me just over 30% of what I paid for it new. It is very well taken care of and doesn't have a ton of miles. My thought is I could keep it for if I have a horse that it does fit in the future. Additionally I have some sentimental value since it was given as a gift from my family. I am annoyingly attached to gifts from family.
My argument for trading it in is simply that I am not currently using it and it would save me money on this purchase. If money were not a factor, I would definitely just keep it.
What do you guys think? If I don't get another horse in the next 5 or so years, is it worth keeping a saddle for? Does saddle technology really change that much? And will my saddle just hold up forever if I keep it in an air conditioned environment?
Thank you guys in advance for being the voice of reason!
Hi all!
I am new to sheep, but not to livestock. I am wanting to add sheep to my farm as pets, but of course want to educate myself first to make sure I can set them up for their best lives and make sure they are compatible with where we live.
Does anyone have any opinions on keeping sheep in Florida? It is very hot here, so I know not all animals thrive here. Fortunately, our farm has a lot of shady pastures.
Any other recommendations for someone new to this?
Thank you in advance!
Hi!
I have moved my horses to a private farm and will need to get them a mode of transportation sooner than later. Instead of going to traditional truck and trailer route, since I would need to buy both, I was looking at the horse vans because they seem more affordable. Additionally, I think it would be easier for others to drive in case of emergency. Unfortunately, I do not have the money for one of those fancy European style ones, so I am talking about the more old school big horse vans. I would need a three horses minimum, so thinking four for extra space. I was wondering the pros and cons, and additionally if anyone thinks they get substantially hotter than today's trailers? I do note that they seem to have less windows.
Thank you in advance!
