Hello!
I hope this is the right place for this: I am from germany and a few days ago, out of a bit of boredom and wanderlust, I came up with the idea of organizing short weekend camping trips with a small group of strangers from Germany and neighboring countries. I would choose a campsite, everyone would arrange their own travel (which should ideally be fairly short), and people could sleep in their car, camper, or in a tent. Evenings would be spent around a campfire, making stick bread, cooking together, and playing card games. During the day, we could do activities together, like exploring a nearby city or going on a hike.
It’s a great way to get away for a bit without much effort, while also meeting new people and having a small adventure. Everyone would simply pay their own share; I’m not looking to turn this into a business or anything like that.
It’s important to me that the age range isn’t too wide so that everyone gets along well. I was thinking something like 20–27, since I’m in that range myself. To find people, I was considering Instagram, Reddit, flyers, or stickers.
My question to you:
What do you think of the idea in general? Do you think something like this could be interesting?
(This is not meant as a search for participants—I’d just like to hear your opinions on the idea.)
The idea comes from the fact that I personally would really love to do something like this. I have a friend who organizes entire trips with strangers, and I found the idea—on a smaller scale with less planning and effort—really appealing. A few years ago, I also organized a road trip over several months with two people who were strangers at the time, and it turned out to be the adventure of a lifetime for me so far.
Thanks in advance for your input :))
