Hey everyone,

I'm very much a beginner at sewing, and could use a tip. I'm currently sewing a patchwork curtain, and ran into trouble sewing two pieces together.

How do I make so that the material doesn't buckle and fold? I tried cutting a slit in the corner of the grey material, but didn't quite do the trick.
