Made a quiz that suggests a specific small business to start based on your situation. Curious if the matches actually make sense.
We kept seeing those "50 business ideas" lists and they always bugged us, they hand the same list to everyone. Someone with a phone and $200 and someone with $20k saved obviously shouldn't be starting the same thing.
So over the last few months we built LaunchSeed. You answer a few questions (budget, free time, skills, how much risk you can stomach) and it gives you one business that fits instead of a giant list. It's free and there's no signup to see your result.
We ran five made-up people through it to see how much the results actually change:
- college student, nights only, just a phone → UGC agency (69%, $200-800)
- parent who bakes, few flexible hours → cookie decorating (91%, $300-1k)
- guy with a truck, weekends free → mobile mechanic (82%, $5k-15k)
- likes animals, wants something flexible → dog walking (99%, $100-500)
- ~$20k saved, going full time → pho spot (88%, $30k-80k)
Mostly posting because we want to know if the thing it gives you feels right, or completely off. If you try it and your match is dumb, tell us, that's genuinely useful.
