Theory about Dorit & PK

I’m in the middle of rewatching season 12 and it’s given me a theory about what happened between Dorit & PK and their marriage.
Does anyone else think that Dorit was never the same after the break in?

I’d actually forgotten the details and after watching S12E1 again where Dorit explains how she was held at gunpoint and one of the men shouted at the other to ‘just f-ing kill her’. And in her own home, in her own bedroom. With her kids in the other room.

Just awful…she genuinely thought she was going to die and so were her children. That must change a person.

Then when PK returns from London and you can see how much shame he feels that he wasn’t there. You can just see all of the self blame, he’s telling himself he failed his wife and kids in his one most important job - to protect them. Obviously this isn’t true but you can just tell that’s what he’s thinking.

And you can really see in subsequent seasons how Dorit is not over it (obviously, completley normal to not just be ‘over it’) but to PK that must be a constant reminder of his failure. And you can really see the resentment creeping in. I think at one point he even accuses her of using that trauma as an excuse for her anxiety and ‘neediness’.

You can really see from both sides.
Dorit- this awful thing happened to me and my husband wasn’t there and I’m not able to get over it and instead of being there for me and comforting me he’s starting to almost resent it when I bring it up.

PK- she blames me, she resents me for not being there. I failed her and the kids and she is constantly reminding me of that failure.

Also I COMPLETELY understand that this is pure conjecture. I don’t know what these people are thinking. It’s just an interesting way to look at things that makes sense to me and I wondered what people thought.
