Ren: he repeatedly manipulated me until I fell into a deep, never ending abyss of mental turmoil & fearing for my life. I experienced intense fawning, hypersexuality, and stockholm syndrom from the trauma I was forced to endure at the hands of this master manipulator. but thankfully I was lucky enough to escape his abuse, your honor.

judge: and how long were you two physically together before you started showing signs of these various conditions?

Ren: an entire weekend.

judge: ...ma'am, that's 3 days.

Ren: yes.

...but if Ren actually was telling the truth about what happened, there probably wouldn't be this insane divide between her supporters, Zeal defenders, & neutralists within the community. yet the fact that there IS such a divide even now, weeks later, is pretty damn telling imo.

Ren is a slave to her own community, just hear me out.

when it was revealed that she (allegedly) wasn't going to release a second doc, the tides of her supporters immediately started to shift. I noticed the loudest ones either went radio silent or expressed some level of doubt & apprehension towards Ren and her (alleged) decision not to release another one.

but suddenly, she comes out and says "actually wait, I AM releasing another one!!!" and almost like magic, her supporters went right back to worshipping the ground she walks on. even if she has no intention of ever writing another doc, she has to maintain the lie that she will, for however long she can. this goes for the entire situation as a whole; the accusations, the contradictions, the deception, if she backs down even alittle or slips up too carelessly (ig. not making another doc, addressing certain elephants that can irreversibly dampen her credibility, etc), her supporters will start to disperse and/or retaliate against her. because when you build a community founded by lies, the risk of being outed increases the further you spread those lies.

it's somewhat similar to a queen bee and her hive: as soon as she's unable to maintain her duties as queen, the colony gets rid of her. thx for coming to my tedtalk
