How long is the wait for urgent umbilical hernia surgery?
Hi everyone,
I have an umbilical hernia that's been bothering me for about the last week (technically discovered it earlier in the year but hasn’t bothered me much until now). I had an ultrasound on Thursday, and today my doctor told me it's in the early stages of incarceration. She referred me for an urgent CT scan, and I'm now waiting for a call to book both the scan and surgery.
For anyone in Ontario who's been through something similar, how long did you end up waiting for surgery? I'm especially curious if having an incarcerated hernia moved things along more quickly.
So far my pain has been manageable and there’s discomfort, but I'm definitely anxious about waiting. I'd really appreciate hearing about other people's experiences.
