Home readings - as a result of white coat syndrome

Hello everyone,

26M, in good overall health (except my diet, it's a mess of junk food).

Lately (not really, explain a bit later in the post), my doctor ordered me to measure my bp at home. Why? Cause it was 167/92 at office.

I'm very aware of hypertension and its consequences, so I took the machine and started measuring.

They only had wrist machines, so I took one. I know they're not the most accurate and require the wrist to be in a specific height, but I respect the requirements.

For a month or 2, I checked my Bp on a regular basis (ok, 3-4 days per week), and it's all around 115-130/80-70.

Now, I wonder if it might be caused by a trauma that was caused by my family doctor when I was like 14 (my bp was "over the normal" so she sent me to like 5 or 6 big, stressful medical exams).

So, what do you guys think,

  1. Can I be reassured that I don't have hypertension?

  2. Can such numbers be caused by white coat syndrome?

It's important to note that I can be very anxious, and I feel my heart beat once I see the doctor preparing the machine..

Thanks a lot!
