I saw that several people were doing this, and it looked like fun, so I decided to give it a try.
This is my second run. In my first one, I died to the Boar Boss on the way to Horunka.
This time, I managed to defeat it.
After that, I accepted the two side quests and played it safe. I collected the treasure chests, opened all the locked chests, and returned to town to prepare before taking on the bosses.
As for my character's appearance, I tried to make it as close to my real-life self as possible. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, although I made my skin tone a bit too pale.

What three sword skills are you picking?
I’m using a one-handed sword. I really like Vertical Slash because it knocks the enemy back, Horizontal is cool too. But what would you suggest?
