Please help! Xfinity home line isn’t working.

To anyone who takes the time to read…TIA!! My parents are older and have been having issues with their Xfinity home voice service. I have been trying to help them with it for over a week now.

I’ve tried contacting Xfinity multiple times but I end up on hold for over an hour each time. My parents have Xfinity home voice & internet. The modem is connected via power cord, coax cable, and phone cord to the wall. The internet works just fine, but the phone line is “dead,” meaning the home phone handsets say “no line” and there is no dial tone. I’ve tried connecting to different points in the house, doesn’t work. I have tried manually resetting multiple times as well. The ONLY way it works is if I plug a handset directly into the modem. This won’t work for them because they have multiple handset phones throughout the house.

They have never had any issues prior to this. Please let me know if you have any advice!
