Thought heating my pool would be easy... turns out I had no clue

When we got the pool I just figured you turn the heater on when you want a swim and switch it off when you're done. Didn't really think much beyond that.

First power bill came in and... yeah wasn't expecting it to be that high. The pool also never seemed to stay warm for very long so I kept doing the same thing over and over.

I spent a bit of time reading through older posts on here and talking to a couple of people I know with pools. Turns out I was making it work harder than it needed to by letting the water cool right down every time.

Would've been nice to know that before I started guessing my way through it

Tell me iam not the only one LOL
