My best CRT filter

You see how this looks, right?

I saw Primetime a couple weeks ago and could not get the cinematography out of my mind.
It looked so greasy and saturated and the CRT effects they used looked so good. You could see the individual phosphor cells on the big screen. I had to give it a go to try and get as nice a CRT effect as I possibly could. Combining a few CRT effect tutorials using instancing to render the phosphor cells as 3D objects to get realistic moire effects, raiding a github repo or two, combined with Frequency Modulation from decayingsun, and Sparkles_OX.tox from ordinaire.x, and the pixel sorting tool from milkorvaa. Logos & video both look really nice. It also feels a little foreboding & with Halloween upon us I’m thinking about classic horror movies. Let me know if you like the blue or the red version of the logo more and follow everybody on Instagram and TikTok and follow Caprock.av and just have a great day man fr.

Metalheart

New sauce from the year 2000, this time with ‘just call me’ by Niko B (@ihatetomaustin). Been really inspired by @hirokaze_gfx (On IG) and that 2000’s metalheart style. With some help from u/okamirufu for some guidance on abstract geometries, u/SARV7 once again for his endlessly helpful audio tools, ocean.tox, and some camera setups ngl, @g3n0m4 (On IG) for the liquid glass, & @simondavidryan (On IG) for the terrain tutorial (geez what part of this did I make lmao). Either way many thanks to the names above without whom I would be lost. Made in TD as always.

Alternate Universe Xbox

In an alternate 2005, a young boy sits at his new Capbox game system. He hasn’t bought any games yet, but he has a lot of CDs and with the satellite connection he can watch a show or two and that’s good enough for now.

More retro futuristic UI’s coming at ya at 24 FPS, using the SpotifyBridge.tox by @merderbil and countless POPX tools from @mini_uv . While originally just a bumper inspired by the vibes of Halo 3 and Half-Life, it ended up a bad case of ‘the more it looked like a game, the more it should feel like a game’. I borrowed heavy design notes from the ORIGINAL Xbox, and trying to find a place for every bit of information was challenging, and eventually I said why not, let’s add the controller. I gave each button a function, from changing the volume, to moving the camera, to triggering two different sets of playable FX, with two different menus for various states of presentation, and buttons that highlight when you press them. Always aiming for more polish. Either way, thanks to the names mentioned above and follow @caprock.av on Instagram and TikTok.
