Question about potential machine purchase
I was offered a set of machines at a steep discount. It’s from a person I’ve known for years and is trustworthy. I already have a well-setup shop, but am always on the prowl. It’s basically machines for a framing shop. Hardly used. Miter guillotine, fastener driver thingy, hot/cold vacuum press, and a legit looking glass cutter (not pictured). I’m not super familiar with these types of machines, but I see the potential.
A little background…..I live in an artist driven town and do woodworking full-time. I’ve made many custom fine wood frames for a variety of art. I already have a bag veneer vacuum system, but the press being sold looks pretty sweet.
She paid $6,000 usd for it all six years ago and is expecting way below that. I’m doing my due diligence and may make an offer. She’s also willing to piece it out separately.
So, should I buy the whole lot? One or two of them? Rank the machines based on usefulness in an already well-equipped shop? What applications are there, other than framing? I have money squirreled away, so I’m not going to lowball her too, too much.
