Debt Collection Case
Hello! I wanted to see if anyone could provide any advice on a debt collection case in California. I was recently sued by Discover for an old debt that I had.
I didn't receive the initial summons properly but I did not put in a motion to quash because the lawyers had said it only delays it. The case already got a clerk judgement saying that I need to pay the amount. Would I still be able to reach out to the debtor and negotiate something? Even if they file to garnish my wages, they won't be able to because I don't make enough to be garnished (I was in another court case for getting my wages garnished and the courts determined that I do not make the minimum legal amount to get garnished).
