Hey Fellow Redditors!

I’m going to ask a semi- stupid question, but what really is the difference between AR-15 and bolt action rifles other than the semi-auto function?
Is there something specific? Is one better for defense and better for hunting?
I’m think of getting one or the other and am not sure which would be better to get.
