Does Smart Interviews (SI) actually matter for placements?

Smart Interviews Phase 2 starts tomorrow, but I honestly don't want to continue with it. I'm thinking of switching to Cybersecurity or some other training instead.

My main concern is about placements. In the future, will the Training & Placement (T&P) team allow only students who completed Smart Interviews (SI) to apply for companies, or is eligibility based only on CGPA?

My CGPA is 8.57, so I'm not worried about that. I just don't feel like continuing with SI unless it provides a real advantage.

My biggest doubt is:

  • During placements, do students who completed Smart Interviews get any extra preference?
  • If yes, I'll probably stay in SI.
  • If not, I'd rather switch to another training program.

Also, from what I've seen, companies like TCS mostly ask questions on arrays, strings, and other Phase 1 concepts anyway. So I'm wondering if continuing SI is actually worth it.
