Apartment search
Hi everyone!
My partner and I (2-person family, no kids, no pets) are moving to the Champaign-Urbana area as young professionals and are looking for an apartment or possibly a small house to rent.
- Campustown: We’d love to be in a lively, walkable area with easy access to restaurants, coffee shops, and things to do—so Campustown initially seemed appealing because of the convenience and energy. That said, a lot of places there seem to be mostly student apartments or student houses. Do non-students/young professionals also live in Campustown and are there any specific apartment complexes that are considered better for young professionals rather than typical undergrad student housing? I’ve seen places like The Dean, Pacifica on Green, and Campus Circle mentioned. I looked into Seven, Onyx, Here, Latitude.
I really like the more upscale apartment style—newer buildings, gym, good amenities, secure parking, etc.—rather than older housing setups.
Other areas. Are there other areas you’d recommend for that kind of lifestyle? Maybe Downtown Champaign, parts of Urbana?
Areas to avoid. And are there any areas or apartment complexes you’d recommend avoiding?
Would really appreciate local insight, especially from other young professionals who made a similar move. Thanks!
