Thank God she only gets spayed once...

*contains graphic descriptions of surgery related gore.*

I got my girl Nephthys spayed today and it was the worst, most horrible traumatic experience, and I'm still crying.

I had to wait for Nephthys to get spayed until she was almost 1 year old because she was a rescue and was very sickly when I got her, then we moved to China, and I didn't want her to have surgery right before or after a big move, then I was looking for a good vet, then I needed to check her for HCM, then my work schedule was busy or she was in heat and I didn't want to risk her bleeding...

But I finally did it today, and it was awful. Check in was fine, she had some liver problems back in March which have 100% resolved, and the procedure went well, but when they brought her back in to me, she started screaming, and trying to throw herself and bite me. It was just a bad reaction to coming out of the anesthetic, but I had to hold her tightly so she didn't split her stitches all while she's screaming, trying to throw herself and biting me. At this point I'm balling my eyes out, and then, the vet brings out her fucking uterus and ovaries!!! On a little tray and shows them to me!!!

I had to have a hysterectomy at 28, it was horrible and traumatic and I'm still not mentally over it and don't know if I will ever be, and seeing her little organs just sent me into a spiral. I know it's the best thing for her health but between her horrible reaction and seeing her sad little organs... I'm still not okay. My neighbor friend got me a sandwich and some sweet tea... but I'm gonna curl up in a ball and sob myself to sleep with my poor baby kitty.

My cat is a dog...

I bought my friend a pearl bracelet for her birthday, and had the bag it was in sitting on my kitchen table. My sweet little skin goblin, Nephthys, who almost never jumps on the kitchen table, tipped over the bag it was in, and went straight for the box. Chewed it all up... This is the same cat that plays fetch. I love her so much, but I've never had a cat that acts like she does. Just have to laugh at it.
