I realized that my favorite movies fall into two categories: horrifying/terrifying/devastating (usually horror, but sometimes drama) and delightful/fun/silly. For example, my top two favorite movies are The Shining and The Wrestler, but those are followed by Surf's Up and The Lego Movie, and I love ridiculous comedies like 21 Jump Street.

Is this a common dichotomy? Do you have similar seemingly polarized taste or do you like things across the spectrum?

I've had a cold over the last week or so so there's been a lot of nose blowing. Suddenly yesterday for no apparently reason my right ear--the one with ETD, the one that has felt like I need to pop it every single day since the fall of 2017--suddenly opened up. I noted the time because tbh it is rare but not the first time it has happened. For 35 minutes I had the distinct pleasure of feeling symmetrical again, feeling like I could sense through that ear more clearly, feeling uncongested.

Then after that 35 minutes had passed I was back to feeling as though the plane had landed and I needed to pop my ears.

9 years and counting... le sigh
