I regret not putting down a match or a coin or something for scale, but these little guys are maybe 10mm tall, caps only a few mm across. The moss/whatever looks kinda shiny and iridescent from a distance which is why they caught my eye.

They’re growing on a wet clay bank in Wairarapa if that helps anyone with an ID?

Jump, jump!

This one crawled down my inner thigh. Yes, I nearly lost control of my bowels. I used a lot of the words I learned from my Granny, who could have offended sailors, soldiers and farmers. No spiders were harmed in the making of this post. This is a standard sized whisky glass, for scale.
