I have been living abroad for the last 20 years, but I visit India regularly. In the past 3–4 years, I have noticed that many people I know have become increasingly interested in Korean films and web series.

I am from South India, and the trend seems to be more or less the same across the different states. I’m not sure whether the same is true in North India as well.

It’s not just films and web series either. There seems to be a growing interest in Korean fashion, beauty products, food, etc.

What do you think is driving this growing popularity of Korean culture in India? Is it mainly because of K-dramas and K-pop, or are there other factors behind it?
