Following the “Heroes in Crisis” event, in which Poison Ivy died and was later resurrected,

Ivy returns in an unstable state, half-plant, half-human, unable to maintain her normal appearance.

Harley decides to take Ivy on a journey to help her heal and protect her as they flee from villains (such as the Floronic Man) and heroes who are pursuing them.

Harley questions her own identity and whether she really wants to remain a villain, while Ivy struggles with her contempt for humanity and her growing mental instability
