A Multi Zone Surprise
I just received my Senville SENA/18HF/D.. which is supposed to be a two zone unit. I'm covering some small bedrooms on one side of the house and the 6000 BTU indoor units are perfect and were previously hard to find outside of Mitsubishi units.
However, after receiving the unit, I have two unexpectedly positive surprises.
- Documentation on the website seems a little rushed on this unit. It lists a pre charge total of 50ft. Actual unit nameplate is pre charged for 75ft so this saves me having to do that step for my total 54 ft lineset.
However the most expected is... It's supposed to be a Two Zone only unit, but it has a C port for a third zone (which would explain the additional pre charge).
Unfortunately, the Senville documentation is more generic than the actual Midea documentation.
I believe this unit is either identical to or derived from the Midea MO3EX-H18B-2A. The documentation for that does indeed support the 6+6 BTU combo Senville sells, but indeed also supports a 6+6+6 or 6+6+9 head combination.
Additionally, the zone valve configuration looks like I could just add a third zone at a later date by just pressure testing/vac down on zone C, and then weight in any additional R454B needed for the lineset length of the third zone over the 75ft A+B+C precharge.
I do have a message into Senville support to confirm, but has anyone else encountered a pleasant discrepancy like this?
