What is a small "slow living" habit you brought into your life that quietly changed everything?

When I first started looking into slow living, a lot of the online content felt a bit unattainable—it seemed to require moving to a cabin, quitting a full-time job, or completely overhauling your entire lifestyle overnight.

But over time, I realized that living slowly is much more about the micro-choices we make in our existing routines.

For me, it started with something as simple as not checking my phone for the first 20 minutes after waking up, and actually sitting down to drink my morning coffee without multitasking. It felt tiny, but it completely changed the emotional trajectory of my mornings.

I'd love to hear from this community: What is one small, low-effort "slow" practice or habit you brought into your daily life that had a surprisingly deep impact on your peace of mind?

I’ve noticed my mind starts racing the second my head hits the pillow. For those who used to struggle with evening anxiety or overthinking, what daily logging or journaling habit actually helped you turn your brain off?
