Job Searching as a BIM specialist

I just need to vent about it

I haven't done a job search since way before I graduated college. I was hired right out of my Architectural Drafting program. I'm needing a change of pace, and of course better pay. I'm looking for jobs with local or national companies. My question is..... does it suck this much for everyone? I feel like I'm either overly qualified for the low paying entry level jobs, but way underqualified for the experienced job titles. As long as I can stay living where I do, I want some sort of BIM designing role. I just don't want to work in the field. I feel like I'm asking too much. I've applied for two roles with Jacobs and already been rejected from one. Ugh
