Vet prescribed food is high carb
My 10 year old gal, Miss Nyx, got diagnosed with diabetes yesterday. The vet prescribed Hill’s Prescription m/d GlucoSupport Chicken & Liver Stew Canned food. It shows it has 15% carbs per can. I’ve only been researching this for a day so obviously I’m not an expert but doesn’t that seem high? I’ve seen most people using <7% carbs in their diabetic cats food so I’m unsure if this brand is going to work. I’m planning to talk to my vet on Friday about it but wanted a sanity check in case I’m missing something.
