TAGUIG INVEST SCHOLARSHIP

Hey guys, just need to vent a bit re this:

I applied for the Taguig INVEST Scholarship hoping to start my medical school journey this year. I honestly thought I had a solid profile: Graduated Laude from a Big 4 University with a high NMAT score.

For context, I’m registered voter myself, along with my siblings and one of my parents. Out of our entire household, 5 out of 6 of us are registered voters in Taguig. The only exception is my other parent, who is working abroad, which is why they aren't registered here.

I wasn’t even offered an interview. When I looked into it, it seems like the screening process heavily prioritizes whether both parents are registered voters in the city. If one parent isn’t your chances drop drastically, and your academic achievements feel completely disregarded.

I explained our situation to them, but it didn't seem to matter. It feels incredibly discouraging that after working so hard to get high credentials, a bureaucratic technicality is what shuts the door.
