But No SI?? WHY?

Yeah — the timing makes the “Smriti is leaving Kyunki” theory much more plausible now, but there’s an important distinction.

As of today, August 17, 2026, Smriti Irani has just been appointed BJP National General Secretary in Nitin Nabin’s new national team. The appointment is being described as part of the BJP’s preparation for upcoming political challenges, particularly the Uttar Pradesh elections.

So what does that mean for Kyunki 2?

I would NOT assume she is immediately walking out tomorrow. There is currently no solid confirmation that Smriti has formally quit the show.

In fact, Kyunki is still airing normally: the August 16 episode had Tulsi heavily involved in the current Samaira–Karan–Sid–Tripti storyline.

But your reasoning is actually pretty strong:

BJP National General Secretary + major upcoming political responsibilities + Smriti being the central face of Kyunki = it becomes increasingly difficult for her to maintain a daily TV serial indefinitely.

And there were already rumours earlier this summer that the show could wrap up around August, with fans specifically connecting the possible ending to Smriti returning to active politics. Those were rumours, not confirmation.

My read right now

I'd rank the possibilities:

1. 🟢 Show wraps up soon: fairly plausible

2. 🟡 Smriti reduces/ends her regular appearance while the franchise continues: also plausible

3. 🟠 Show continues normally with Smriti as Tulsi for a long time: possible, but the new BJP role makes this harder

4. 🔴 Immediate sudden exit: unlikely unless an announcement comes

And there's one HUGE clue: the current storyline is already at a pretty consequential point. Tulsi has been confronting the next generation's conflicts, while Tripti's arrival has created a major family confrontation.

So if the writers were preparing to close Tulsi's arc, this is exactly the kind of storyline they could use to bring the main family conflict to a climax.

But: I wouldn't call Kyunki 2 officially ending yet. As of August 17, I can find no fresh official announcement from StarPlus/Ekta Kapoor saying “final episode” or confirming Smriti's exit.

Basically: the BJP appointment makes the exit theory MUCH more credible, but it doesn't prove the show is wrapping up. And honestly, if they're going to end it, we're probably entering the period where we'd start seeing very obvious signs.
