Can Beguile actually anger NPCs?
Beguile is one of my favourite abilities. The wiki says:
>If the player fails to beguile an otherwise neutral creature, they will become hostile
…but I’ve literally never seen that happen in all of my time playing Qud.
I’ll hoof it to the Six Day Stilt at level 4 and spam beguile, begging merchants to love me so that I can have infinite water. There’s no consequences for that except a pop-up that they’re annoyed.
I recoil to the end game areas, beguile those merchants (failing several times usually) and then recoil them back to my dumpy starting village. Still no consequences!
I’ve started just beguiling literally everyone to see if it’ll ever get me in trouble and it never does.
What NPCs will actually attack you if you fail to beguile?
