Not even doves can resist a good fiddle

(Sorry for the explosion when he landed on my phone. 😔)

Don't let his beaking and desperate fluttering fool you, he doesn't want his baby food/to get hand fed anymore. Trying to give it to him just results in a scathing side-eye.

... Or around his 21st day of being alive, at least. This baby ECD was given to me on the 17th by a local farmer after the nest was destroyed. It's been two weeks with a lot of panicking and trying to keep him healthy with some very limited resources, but I think we're finally out of the danger zone. 😮‍💨 Never thought I'd be so invested in what a bird's poop looked like.

He's already made an absolute mess of his new enclosure, as you can see, but I find it within me to forgive him every time I watch him clumsily flutter up onto his favorite perch. I'm less forgiving about his new addiction to standing on my hand to eat, but I'm an enabler at the end of the day.

Funny enough, he loves music. I gave him a serenade (and made a fool of myself doing it) yesterday, and he had a great time. He also behaves a little more during feeding time if there's a background track. Will monitor genre + response and report back. For science, of course.
