Considering a move from Denver suburb.
Hello! I am hoping to hear some opinions from anyone who’s moved from Colorado to the Twin cities area. I am originally from MN, but have lived in Denver or just outside of it for over a decade. We love the access to nature here and find the city to be well suited to our young family, but we also wouldn’t mind being closer to our Midwest family. It makes us sad to consider that our kids won’t grow up seeing their family often. Climate change/WATER are also issues that concern us and our children’s future here in CO.
Anyone who took advantage of the access to big mountains out here make the move to MN and end up loving it? What areas are great for hiking within the TC metro? I’ve become a trail runner and would love to continue that passion wherever we live.
What’s appealing right now as we consider the move is the potential ability to live in a walkable part of Mpls that’s also family friendly. We can’t afford that in Denver and desperately want out of the boring suburb we ended up in. I’m pretty familiar with the suburbs west of Mpls but would love to get current local opinions on where you’d think a nature loving family that would also love a walkable location would prefer to live.
Budget would likely max out at $550,000. Schools are important, though we are also considering homeschooling for the first or early years.
This is kind of all over the place- excuse my tired mom brain please.
TIA!
