Rule Update: No X or Facebook Links

Rule Update: No X or Facebook Links
Effective immediately, direct links to X (Twitter) and Facebook are no longer permitted.

Why?

Many posts require an account to view, making them inaccessible to many users (and moderators).Social media posts can be edited or deleted without notice.

Meta and X reward post that cause controversy and therefore many of these posts result in many reports and issues.

Many of these posts coming over seem to be gripes about Facebook groups. This is not useful for community conversation.

If something is genuinely newsworthy, there is usually a better source with more context.
We want discussions to focus on the content, not on driving traffic to social media platforms.

Please do not post screenshots of X or Facebook either. Instead, summarize the relevant information and, where possible, link to the original article, official source, or website.

Thanks for helping keep discussions accessible, verifiable, and useful for everyone.

Old Timers Request

I planted from 1992-2000 and while I do not miss some of the coastal rainy days I miss planting.

Would a company ever take a volunteer planter.? Would love to spend one or two weeks in camp. Get into shape and give 1/2 my trees planted to the crew and use the rest to cover my expenses and camp cost.

What do you all think? I am an old dude now but after 6 years my density is spot on and I bet I could still put in a lot of trees.

New Subreddit Rule

As elections get close, in order to maintain reasonable discussion members that break site wide or subreddit rules multiple times will be banned. Please go over the site rules when posting. The goal is to avoid the dumpster fire FB pages become at election time. Political discussion welcome but within side wide rules.
