Looking for advice on waterproof shoes

I hope you guys can help me decide what kind of shoes would work for a whole day of outdoor/indoor work. I’m posting here as I think you might have some experience with goretex and comfortable waterproof shoes.

I’ve just started a new job as cycling office gardener, and I live in a climate with heavy rain and strong wind. I’ll be both indoors and outdoors throughout the day, and since I need some support for my feet I’m thinking goretex trail shoes might be better than regular rubber boots for 8h 5days a week?

But I see people in the threads talking about balloon feet and blisters? So now I’m all confused. I don’t think “quick drying shoes” would work as I imagine them getting smelly pretty fast.

I’m looking into the Salomon Genesis GTX models, would shoes like that work for full days of biking in heavy rain and walking for hours in offices? Do you have any other suggestions for me?

Thanks in advance ^^

It’s my first time grafting, so I’ve got a few questions.

It’s been about 6 weeks since I’ve grafted these apple trees and they’re all showing some growth 🥳

First and foremost, how and when should I remove the grafting tape made of elastic rubber band?

Second, I’m removing growth from the rootstock, but what about the graft itself? Three of them have buds (both growing), and the last one is a top graft with only the top bud growing at this time - should I remove the others at some stage?

I’d like the apples to grow in a standard tree shape with one main stem and a crown at some point.

I live in climate zone 7a / 7b.
