The most expensive socks we own by far

Fiber: 75% Blue Faced Leicester, 15% mohair, 10% silk, blended and dyed by SweetGeorgia Yarns, in colourways Natural and Tanzanite

Yarn construction: 4 ply (2S, 2Z, plied in S) opposing ply, 17-22 WPI, 25° twist, 1500-1900 ypp grist (it's pretty dense lol)

Tool: Ashford Traditional wheel on the 12:1 whorl

Sock pattern: Cabled Trellis Socks by Westknits on Ravelry

Took about a month alternating between spinning 12g batches of each colour and knitting. This was my 3rd pair of socks ever so I'm pretty excited about these! Took a lot of swatching in the beginning to figure out the opposing ply but it was worth it.

Why does my finished 3 ply look bumpy/curly?

Fiber: BFL + mohair + silk ("Trifecta" blend from SweetGeorgia)

Preparation: worsted, combed top

Technique: worsted, 2-3 treadles per ~inch (it was drifting apart otherwise)

Tool: Ashford Traditional wheel, 18:1 whorl (fastest)

Stats: 3 ply (Z, Z, S; plied in S), 22wpi, 4.25-8.5 twists per inch, 1800 yards per pound, 20° twist

Finish: wet finish, snapped and thwacked

I achieved all the things I was aiming for: length, grist, WPI, and elasticity. But how do I make the yarn less bumpy/curly and more even looking? It's not curling back on itself so I don't think it's over spun. Is my consistency still just that bad 🥲

Your favourite Dutch spinning shops and fiber sources?

I anecdotally noticed that there seems to be a disproportionate number of people living in the Netherlands on this subreddit. I visit twice a year and would love to know what your favourite shops and farms to get fiber from are. I know I've saved a couple from comment threads on this subreddit but it would be great to have a resource in one place.

I'm also slowly learning Dutch so any spinning vocabulary help would be appreciated haha. If you reply in Dutch I will attempt to do the same... it will help me practice, but no promises on accuracy 😅
