Overwhelmed with what to do about GM car lease + debt
Hey y'all—in a pretty desperate financial situation that has continued to build over the last few years/very shortly after I signed my first car lease in 2023. It was already about to come to (what I thought was) a head in a few months...but then today I was in a car accident—THANKFULLY(!!!!) no one was injured, and only the back of my car was damaged/it is still driveable—but the damage is likely going to cost a fortune to fix, and considering I was already 3 months behind on lease payments. Reliable/safe transportation is an absolute requirement for the work I do, and even though I am up to date on car insurance payments, I can't afford for the premium to go up any further as I'm already living paycheck-to-paycheck and don't have the credit/ability to put anything on credit cards.
