2yr old Belgian Malinois (1 week post-op)
After 7 months of attempted recovery from a torn carpal, it took a turn for the worse and got infected. The only option was to remove the hardware which stabilized her injury (source of the infection) or amputation. Such a hard decision but our girl is 1 week in her recovery and it’s definitely a rollercoaster of emotions questioning if we made the right decision.
She is getting around but is still in pain from the surgery. She is able to do stairs fairly well without pain, but today she hopped into our bed and when my husband carried her off the bed she cried a bit and it was heart breaking..💔
