Lack of Professionalism

Has anyone experienced this in their programs? my program is too chill, that I forget this isn’t undergrad bc professors are chill, students are unprofessional, negative, complain too much.

I know random information about professors but I feel like when students do it is considered ‘unprofessional’.

How do you stay sharp in this environment, i’m confused as to the dynamic of pa professors and students and also how professional is PA school really supposed to be?

Unlocked the Secret of Didactic

9 Months in and this post is also a reminder to myself.

  1. One person you can tell anything to about PA School and receive feedback/Advice (Must be in PA Profession)
  2. SSRI never stopping it during PA school, this has helped me make sure that the mental stress does not progress to physical stress (lower immune system, hair loss, fatigue, etc)
  3. Study for PANCE, Don’t study for grades, do bare minimum in grades but the maximum in understanding PANCE/clinical topics.
  4. Don’t forget you just need to sacrifice one year of life, sleep, etc.
  5. PANCE STYLE Practice questions > making notes/writing notes/ flashcards
  6. Advisors are not there for emotional support just for academic

Time Management & Gym

I’m at peak didactic fatigue, i’ve gained 15+ LBs since starting 9 months ago. I used to work out intensely daily for years before PA school, Its lowkey making me depressed how sedentary this year feels.

How do you stay active? What’s your gym routine?
I have classes from 8am-12pm or 3pm & I bought a walking treadmill and it sucks lol I still do it but I prefer going to the gym.

I’m thinking about getting a gym membership close to school so i can go between breaks/lunch etc.
