Smile, 6 months later

Hey everyone, just jotting down my experience and thoughts on the SMILE surgery here.
Had it in germany, 5000€ for both eyes. Operation was nothing special, definetly not painful. Discomfort for the rest of the day but you are just supposed to keep your eyes closed.

I had -2 on both eyes. My main motivation was that i hated wearing glasses or contacts.
I don't think my post-op vision is perfectly as clear as it was with glasses, especially when looking at a screen (darkmode), but switching to lightmode helps here

one important thing for the days after the op, often times your vision will be blurry, 90% of the time, your eyes are dry. use the lubricating drops your doc gave you and it will be better

i do still (after 6 months) notice my eyes being more dry than they used to be. (i only notice this while staring at a screen for a long time, actively blinking or keeping the eyes closed for a couple of seconds helps

would i do it again? yes, 100%, the downsides of slightly dryer eyes and sliight blur on darkmode screens don't come close to the upside of just being able to see, all the time, everywhere, without having to wear glasses
