Statement of Claim - Motor Vehicle Accident
Hi everyone, seeking some advice.
I was involved in my first car incident late last year. We exchanged information and parted ways. I did try to contact to settle privately although there was no response. I claimed insurance and their insurance contacted me for the claim number and details of the situation. I paid my excess and thought it was all done.
Yesterday I received a statement of claim from the magistrates court of Vic. So the other party had gotten a lawyer and it seems that the repairs they're asking to be compensated for are quite excessive for what the damage was. I sent the documents to my insurance already but I'm just worried as it's my first experience with this and it says I have 21 days to respond.
Any advice is appreciated.
