Burning Man only started making you grant your Personal Attributes for their advertising/other purposes last year.
Dug into this into a comment on another thread, thought it was important to surface:
Only in 2025 did BMP start claiming the use rights of your Personal Attributes for promotion or "whatever".
In the older versions I've seen, the Ticket Terms & Conditions do assign joint copyright to media, but for the expressly stated purpose of allowing the Org to enforce takedowns of unauthorized media.
There is no labeled "Media Release" clause in older versions, this is the closest they have:
>I acknowledge that people are using film, video, and photographic cameras at the Event, and that my image may be captured on film, video, or photographs that may subsequently be displayed or disseminated without my consent or payment of compensation to me, and I release BMP from any liability due to such capturing, display, or dissemination.
Starting in 2025 there is an explicit media release section:
>Media Release and Consent. I acknowledge that people, including BMP and its designees, are using film, video, and photographic cameras, audio recorders, live streaming devices, and other means of capturing media at the Event, and that my name, image, likeness, actions, and statements (“Personal Attributes”) may be captured on film, video, photographs, audio recordings, streams, or other media that may be displayed or disseminated simultaneously or subsequently without my consent or payment of compensation to me, and I release BMP from any liability due to such capturing, display, or dissemination. I grant BMP the right to include my Personal Attributes in any media or context for any purpose, including for purposes of promoting BMP’s nonprofit mission, without further authorization or compensation.
(emphasis added)
