Intermediate Steering Shaft aftermarket or OEM/OE
I was experiencing a very heavy steering wheel with my 2011 Audi a4. It would sometimes be light and normal then other times heavy (worse at low speeds). I took it in and my local euro shop told me it was the intermediate steering shaft. The part they quoted me for as a replacement was OEM and $450. Online I have seen that $450 is on the cheap side for OEM. However I noticed there are aftermarket option that range from $150-$200 ish.
My question is are the aftermarket steering shafts okay to use? Or is it a component that really should be replaced with an OEM/OE part? Thank you!
