so i love music as much if not more than the next guy, blah blah blah whole life story. i want to go into music ed. i’ve had this planned since around 7th grade.. but (dun dun DUNNNN) every director i’ve had has told me not to. My middle school director said it sucked and the government is bad, and my highschool director told me that it’s not worth it.. is it really that bad? should i just go into a different music major? (i dont want to)

how can i decide whether a show is too conceptual? i feel like i will always have a bias becuase i’ve planned it out heavily so i know th concept immediately and i think its easy to follow. for context, im writing a show (yes shame lil old composer me) titled, [insert show title here]
..get it? anyways in a three movement structure i kinda envisioned Cool Placeholder Marching Band, Identity Realization, Identity Generation.. advice? is this all stupid and i should scrap it? should i move to canada? can we cancel strawberry fanta?
