[Categories] Day 28 - (Episode 4) Favourite Ilya Micro-Expression

The discussion in the previous post for favourite change from book to Episode 3 was really interesting! u/RoutineUtopia had the top comment as the favourite change being aging Scott up and how him being older likely impacted his story and coming out.

For Day 28, we are back with Shane and Ilya. What was your favourite Ilya micro-expression in Episode 4?

[Categories] Day 26 - (Episode 3) Favourite part of book translated to screen

The favourite musical moment from Episode 3 was the start of I'll Believe in Anything playing as the camera focuses on Scott in the Sochi cafe as contributed by u/Pale-Measurement-532.

I feel like the next two days would be interesting with how the show condensed Game Changer into just one episode. So for Day 26, what was your favourite part of the book that was translated to the screen?

Thought experiment - Changing Shane's ending in TLG

I've seen a few discussions about Shane's ending in TLG and how some people don't see it as a happy ending, especially with him probably having to take a pay cut to join the Centaurs and the impact that has on his brand and what it's implying with him being a POC and all that. Sorry long sentence. Shane ends TLG essentially having been cast out by the team that he built, humiliated in the public perception and having to take a major pay cut just to play with his husband. And I know that the happy ending here is that he gets to join the Centaurs which if maybe not yet a good team is a team of good people and play with Ilya. But I can see how some people would not be happy with the ending he got. It's like Shane lost everything. I don't necessarily agree, but I can understand some of their points.

So I was thinking, how could the events or TLG be changed to make it a happier ending? How far back do we go?

Premise 1: Shane was always going to end the book on the same team as Ilya

- Ilya says that it doesn't matter if Shane takes a pay cut because he has a rich husband. Which while true, pride is a real thing here. Pride in his worth and what he has accomplished. Should the book make it clear that Ilya renegotiates his salary so that they could be earning the same and Shane is not taking such a major cut?

- assuming that the trip doesn't happen but Shane decides to leave the metros to join Ilya. The salary cap still exists and the pay cut scenario. So we go back to the first scenario?

Premise 2: we don't have to end with Shane joining the centaurs

- assuming the metros are the POS they are in canon, could Shane have joined another team? He probably would be earning the same or even more. But would that be a happier ending than what we got? He and Ilya would still be doing a long-distance married thing, which as we've seen they're not entirely happy with.

- assuming the metros get over themselves and grovel for Shane's forgiveness. But we know that the locker room with the metros was still not a happy one. Does Shane continue to stay on with them and remain unhappy? He stays. He earns the same. But the problem of the long distance marriage remains. I don't see how to keep this up in the long term. At some point, they would both want to be at the same place at the same time.

- assuming no trip and no forced outing, the second scenario still appears.

Idk, I've just been trying to work out an alternative way things could have worked out. What do you guys think?

[Categories] Day 15 - (Episode 2) Favourite editing moment

In a stunning upset (?), the Crawllander did not win the favourite shot, and instead it went to this gorgeous tracking shot of Ilya dragging the chair as submitted by u/growsonwalls

For Day 15, what was your favourite editing moment from Episode 2?

I might open. I might knock.

HR basically reconnected me with one of my friends from uni because I saw her IG post about Connor and slid into her DMs to gush about him too. Since then we've chatted everyday about the show, the boys and the fandom.

She saw the piece I made for myself and requested me to make one for her as well, and so I did!

I really liked how it turned out with the HR font and the team colours. 🥰

[Categories] Day 13 - (Episode 2) Worst Shane Moment

It was a tight contest for Day 12, but u/hella_hijinks had the worst Ilya moment of the episode as him disassociating on the bed in Vegas as Shane leaves. :(

Now for Day 13, what was Shane's worst moment? Honestly would be surprised if "we didn't even kiss" doesn't win, but I'm interested to see what other suggestions you guys would have for this.

[Categories] Day 3 - (Episode 1) Worst Ilya Moment

A bit of a joint effort for Day 2 as u/NoPoet3982 had the top voted comment and u/daisyemeritus provided the gif of Shane's little eyebrow raise and saved me from having to gif it myself!

For day 3. Now, we love them. But they can be idiots. Especially in the early episodes. So what was the worst Ilya moment from episode 1?

EDIT: to clarify, worst could be their most badly-behaved moment or when they felt the lowest in the episode.
