I found this Rove beetle eating this lesser stag beetle (nsfw because the stag beetle is being eaten)
I was cycling through the woods close to where I live and I saw this happening. Both of these are native where I found them (the Netherlands).
The stag lesser stag beetle is Dorcus paralellipipdus, the rove beetle is the Devil's coach-horse beetle (Ocypus olens). The lesser stag beetle is a relatively uncommon beetle in the Netherlands with a relatively narrow range. Living mostly in hilly forests (which are not ubiquitous here in the Netherlands. It used to be much more common however it is now classified as 'rare' by waarnemingen.nl.
The devil's coach-horse beetle on the other hand is much more common. It is known to be a predator that preys on invertebrates at night. This is logical since I saw this happening at night.
Edit: I posted too early and I wasn't done writing
