am a dog groomer, was randomly (and i mean *randomly*, absolutely 0 warning signs given) bit during a check in. around 3 year old german shepard mix.

i just let him latch on until the owner was able to get him off; didn’t want to lose an ear or an eye if he readjusted his bite.

so thankful to the er team who helped me, there was the sweetest girl who was shadowing my er doctor. she held my hand and comforted me during some of the most pain i’ve experienced 🥺 the dog somehow got me in my ear canal and the docs couldn’t get my ear to stop bleeding, just 15-20 min of straight pain while they tried to locate the nicks

but they didn’t shave me! one of my first thoughts after feeling all the blood on the back of my head was my hair 😅

healing process has been rough, about 2.5 months since the bite and my ear scar still hurts and itches really bad. two infections since the bite, which i’m sure me going back into the very dirty work environment did not help. very tender. one of my coworkers also was bit by a GSD on the skull as a child and still experiences what i’m currently feeling :( but c’est la vie, thank you to all of you medical professionals!
