Euphoric feeling even after months of use (NSW)
I’ve been taking Ritalin IR for about 5 months, usually 20 to 30 mg a day. I find it has definitely helped by calming me and quieting my mind, but it also consistently gives me a noticeable mood lift, like a strong sense of contentment and a subtle euphoric feeling.
It isn’t an intense high, I still feel calm, not overly energetic or impulsive. I notice the euphoric feeling most when I’m alone and relaxed and I find myself enjoying it. I don’t increase my dose or chase the feeling, but i do look forward to taking it for the mood lift, which makes me wonder whether that’s concerning…
Does anyone else still feel mildly euphoric when methylphenidate kicks in - after the “honeymoon period” - or did that effect eventually fade? Just trying to work out if this is normal or not. I’ll bring it up with my Pysch either way.
