When starting a new relationship, how often do you like to talk/see your partner? How does it change over time?

Once official, how often do you like seeing a partner IRL? How much contact on off days? Does that change as things progress?

Job switching after CPA - how to decide what industry to go into?

7 years of experience, Manager title, recently got my CPA. I'm in industry, working for an accounting firm doing closes for multiple clients in a niche field. Currently make 115k. I'm starting to not want to deal with clients anymore, I also know that there is a cap to me at my small company. I also don't feel fairly compensated for the work I'm doing. I'm just struggling to decide what accounting area to go into. My niche field seems okay, but there isn't a lot of openings and it has the potential to not have great job security.

I've been working at a small company so I've gotten a LOT of experience writing SOPs, training, supervising. I know how to do AP & Payroll on multiple platforms. My main function is the month end close though like all aspects rev rec, accruals, payroll, AP/AR, FAs, prepaids, bank/balance sheet reconciliations, equity, cost basis tracking, trend analysis, intercompany, leases, some consolidations, digital assets. I don't hate the MEC process I find it fairly easy and truly believe I can do it well being thrown into any client. BUT I really thrive at the operational side, like making processes and I enjoy reviewing others work and picking it apart. I want something that feels challenging and I can actually learn more, but without annoying clients.

Any ideas for what industry I should be looking at?

What certifications do you get after the CPA?

I know the CPA is the best, but if you can add anything else what would you get? Studying for the CPA I realized how much I miss the learning aspect of college. Some part of be also liked the soul sucking that came with studying.

I want to get other certifications, to scratch this itch and also be a resume builder. I’m considering the CMA, some excel certifications, and maybe getting some finance/investing ones. But I’m not sure what ones are a reasonable step from here. I work in corporate accounting right now, so I’m not too sure how useful any others would actually be. I think some certifications on excel/AI would be the most immediately useful ones. I’m also considering cost, I don’t want to have to drop another like 4K for study material and exam fees.
